RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
The brief for this unique and challenging project was to connect the original house to the garden below and provide new spa and summer house facilities at the same time. The modern summer house was designed and built around a large existing cabbage tree and the lower level was designed to mimic the shape of the existing house.
There was extensive excavation, and retaining to the original house and the neighbouring properties. This proved extremely challenging due to the restricted access to the rear of the property.
The result was nothing less than spectacular, the building features a beautiful turret with handcrafted stained glass and a feature spiral staircase to the lower level. A roof top garden covers the buildingwith the cabbage tree proudly poking through from the internal fern garden in the summer house below. All of this is complemented by water feature, extensive patio and fire pit in the entertaining area outside.
