COMMERCIAL OFFICE & SHOWROOM FITOUT
Ricoh New Zealand required a new Wellington showroom and office space to showcase their expanding range of copiers, document solutions and IT services and to provide working facilities for their growing number of staff.
The fitout was integrated into the basebuild upgrade of the ground floor and level 1 which included the installation of a new feature internal staircase to link the two floors and provide integration between the showroom floor and staff workspace above.
The showroom demanded a high level of finishing and attention to detail. The beams and services above were left exposed with new lowered feature ceilings with recessed lighting installed to distinguish between different supporting spaces. Various feature and functional joinery units were installed to display and present their products and services along with the construction of a meeting room with large format glass sliding/stacking doors to provide flexibility between large open functions and closed formal presentations.
With Ricoh being a leader in the commercial IT industry there was a great emphasis on technology integration throughout their fitout. Network-based building automation systems were integrated into the fitout where lighting, audio visual, blinds, etc. could be controlled in various spaces via tablet computers.
The office space on level 1 provided a functional area for staff to work and collaborate including general open-plan workspaces, management offices, meeting room, utility area, café space and private acoustic booth seating.
Rivcon worked closely with the Auckland based architect, Hauraki Design, to ensure site complications were swiftly resolved, programme milestones reached and the first-class level of finish was achieved for this high profile space.
